Obama’s Role in the Militarization of Mexico

An interview with Laura Carlsen…

Militarization of MexicoMilitarization is not the way to deal with Mexico’s political crisis.” Laura Carlsen

Mike Whitney— Will you explain what Plan Mexico is and how it relates to the North American Free Trade Agreement? (NAFTA)

Laura Carlsen: Plan Mexico, also called the Merida Initiative, is a three-year regional security cooperation plan devised by the former Bush administration and presented in October of 2007. The plan grew out of the extension of NAFTA into security areas, known as the Security and Prosperity Partnership. Originally Plan Mexico was to be announced in the context of the SPP trinational summit but was delayed. It is presented as a petition of the Mexican president Felipe Calderon for US help in the war on drugs but in reality it was designed in Washington as a way to “push out the borders” of the US security perimeter, that is, that Mexico would take on US security priorities including policing its southern border and allowing US companies and agents into Mexico’s intelligence and security operations.

Plan Mexico proposed $1.4 billion in mostly foreign military financing. It is referred to as a “Counternarcotics, Counterterrorism and Border Security” proposal.

MW—Shortly after he was elected president, Felipe Calderon began using the military in the so-called War on Drugs. Since then, there has been a steady rise in troop deployments and an escalation in the violence. What is the Washington’s role in this ongoing counterinsurgency operation?

Laura Carlsen: The Obama administration has supported the plan and even requested, and received from Congress, additional funds beyond what the Bush administration requested. In the three years since Calderon launched the war on drugs in Mexico with the support of the US government drug related violence has shot up to over 15,000 executions and formal reports of violations of human rights have increased sixfold. More than 45,000 solders have been deployed in streets and communities throughout Mexico. Washington recognizes serious problems with the drug war model and yet continues to claim, absurdly, that the rise in violence in Mexico is a good sign–it means that the cartels are feeling the heat, the argument runs. the plan itself does not contain any real benchmarks of what citizens should expect as signs of progress so it can continue to be funded despite its failure.

The State Department was required to submit a human rights report to release 15% of some portions of the appropriations and finally did so last summer. But the report stated that even given a lack of progress in human rights (including reported use of torture with impunity, lack of civilian justice for military forces, killings of civilians and corruption) the mere fact of reporting constituted compliance and released the funds.

So far the effort is not described as a counterinsurgency effort, because Mexico does not have a formal widespread insurgency movement. However, the targeting of grassroots opposition leaders in recent years has raised fears that dissidents are and will be a target of the increasingly militarized society.

MW— In your article you say that the Merida Initiative is the direct outgrowth of the national security framework imposed on bilateral relations. Does that mean that the Bush Administration was using the War on Drugs and the War on Terrorism to conceal its real political goals? If so, what are those goals?

Laura Carlsen: The Bush administration used the counterterrorism paradigm to extend US presence in strategic areas. In Mexico, the idea was to open up lucrative defense and intelligence contracts while aiding the rightwing government, which still faced serious questions of legitimacy due to unresolved accusations of fraud in the 2006 elections.

MW—Are there US intelligence agents, special forces or mercenaries conducting counterinsurgency operations in Mexico? Is Mexico required to allow the US military to operate in Mexico due to security and/or trade agreements?

Laura Carlsen: Mexico does not allow US soldiers on its territory. However there is a growing presence of DEA and other types of US agents in the country, as well as a private security companies. We do not have a good system for tracking the presence and activities of the private firms contracted for security and training purposes. This is a major problem.

MW—What effect has militarization had on political expression? How has it affected grass roots organizations, unions, and indigenous groups? Has there been an uptick in military-related violence, such as rape, beatings, torture and homicide?

Laura Carlsen: There has been an increase in human rights violations by the armed forces. In some regions, dissident leaders have been targeted by the military. Women, indigenous people, migrants, dissidents and youth are particularly vulnerable.

Note: “The militarization of Mexico has led to a steep increase in homicides related to the drug war. It has led to rape and abuse of women by soldiers in communities throughout the country. Human rights complaints against the armed forces have increased six-fold…. The Mexican Armed Forces are not subject to civilian justice systems, but to their own military tribunals. These very rarely terminate in convictions.” “The Perils of Plan Mexico“, Laura Carlsen, counterpunch.

MW—More than 50 Mexican human rights organizations have petitioned Congress to withdraw support for the Merida Initiative. Their letter reads:

“We respectfully request that the U.S. Congress and Department of State, in both the Merida Initiative as in other programs to support public security in Mexico, does not allocate funds or direct programs to the armed forces …

We urge the United States to consider ways to support a holistic response to security problems; based on tackling the root causes of violence and ensuring the full respect of human rights; not on the logic of combat.”

Have you seen any improvement or shift in policy since Barack Obama was elected?

Laura Carlsen: No. The administration has given its full support to the failed drug war. however, there are signs of drug policy reform in domestic policy that could eventually affect the way foreign counternarcotics efforts are viewed. The rhetoric of “ci-responsibility” is really nothing new and the efforts at reducing gunrunning and demand have not been followed up by new policies. the approach continues to be primarily military and violent, with no money whatsoever included in the Merida initiative for heath aspects such as addiction treatment or prevention.

What Physicians Know

November 1, 2009 by admin

PhysiciansI had a long conversation with my favorite physician, who has operated on me twice successfully. He is an incredibly kind person without an ounce of greed or pretense. Like other physicians I have spoken to, he spoke eloquently about the terrible times he consistently has with private health insurance companies.

While he praises Medicare for its simplicity and certainty, he has absolutely nothing positive to say about private insurers. They take up huge amounts of time of him and his staff, trying in every possible way to deny services to their customers (his patients) and also to pay as little as possible to him. His endless struggles with the insurance companies make his life miserable. Meanwhile all he cares about is giving his patients the very best care and not making them suffer because of their insurance carriers.

Like so many of us he sees the need for major reforms of our health care system, but remains pessimistic about what Congress and President Obama will eventually deliver. He is incredulous at how executives of private insurers make vast amounts of money while making physicians and their patients suffer endless annoyances and negative impacts on health care. And they get away with making people pay more and more money for worse and worse insurance.

He also has many stories about patients that do not take medications for long term chronic conditions because they cannot afford prescriptions. He gives out as many samples that he can get, is angry that people in other nations pay much less for brand name drugs, and feels terrible for his patients because the US health care system has let them down.

What would be the ideal solution to the current health care mess? My doctor believes that opening up Medicare to everyone would be wonderful, and the system could be opened up immediately. I totally agree. There is no sound reason for Congress to protect the private health insurance industry. But of course they always have and always will because it is the source of huge amounts of money for political campaigns.

While no one should be forced into Medicare, just making it available to all who want it would be fair. If private colleges compete with public ones, and private for profit hospitals compete with nonprofit ones, why shouldn’t health insurance companies be put in a similar position?

Corruption blocks true and necessary health care reform. Remember that the next time you vote.

U.S. Filling Up With Dumb People: Immigration’s Ultimate Dilemma

October 22, 2009 by admin

“Transforming the American dream into the American tragedy.”

Part 1: Illiteracy leads to shoplifting, babies, crime, gangs…

Dumb PeopleAs an educator in Colorado through the 70s, 80s and 90s, I watched academic standards and expectations drop like a brick in a bucket of water, like a jet fighter plane auguring into the ground, like water cascading over Niagara Falls.

As if guided by an invisible hand nationwide, administrators forced teachers to dumb down the academic requirements. Teachers passed kids to the next grade level… whether those children performed… or not.

Good students dragged down by their illiterate peers

As they failed to cement their educational foundations with the basics— the gaps in their math, science, reading and English skills— created terrible frustrations in their personal lives. When their irritation levels became too great, they ‘gave up’ their pursuit of minimal levels of educational achievement.

Often, while being ‘pushed’ up through grade levels, they acted out their annoyances with disrespect for teachers as they became malcontents, troublemakers or shut down altogether to cope with their growing lack of self-esteem… and failures.

Cannot think critically, read at a fifth grade level or balance a check book.

This year, Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, Illinois featured 115 pregnant girls. That equals not only 115 dumb girls, but 115 dumb boys, which will beget 115 more troubled babies facing horrific futures on all counts. Thus, millions drop out or ‘graduate’ functionally illiterate, i.e., cannot think critically, read at a fifth grade level or balance a check book.

To completely upend and degrade the educational systems of America, the late U.S. Senator Teddy Kennedy, in 1965, passed a bill to inject 1.2 to 1.5 million immigrants into the equation annually. While some are doctors and nurses, to be sure, others come from third-world nations with precious few academic skills. They arrive with dozens of languages, cultural bias against education and hostility toward learning.

Forty years later, we have 100 million people added to the United States from disparate cultures around the world, as K-12 educational systems around America grind on in total chaos.

With a 600,000 Middle Eastern immigrant load in central and suburban Detroit, Michigan, as reported by NBC’s Brian Williams, “…76 percent of high school students in Detroit schools flunked out this June… other cities like Chicago, Los Angeles and Houston feature similar dropout rates from 50 to 60 percent… each year 1.2 million teens hit the streets illiterate.”

That leads up to the distressing fact that 1 in 7 Americans remains functionally illiterate:

Illiteracy Statistics

  • 42 million American adults can’t read at all; 50 million are unable to read at a higher level that is expected of a fourth grader.
  • The number of adults that are classified as functionally illiterate increases by about 2.25 million each year.
  • 20 percent of high school seniors can be classified as being functionally illiterate at the time they graduate.

Source: National Right to Read Foundation

Where Illiteracy Leads

  • 70 percent of prisoners in state and federal systems can be classified as illiterate.
  • 85 percent of all juvenile offenders rate as functionally or marginally illiterate.
  • 43 percent of those whose literacy skills are lowest live in poverty.

Source: National Institute for Literacy

Yet, with those disturbing figures, our U.S. Congress, by their action and by their inaction, imports an added 2.5 million legal and illegal immigrants into this country every year. That equals over 200,000 every 30 days. AND THE FOLKS FROM THIRD-WORLD NATIONS HAVE HIGH BIRTH RATES. Their kids overwhelm our schools… subverting education for our own children. The immigrants themselves face daunting challenges as to culture, language and jobs.

In Denver, we suffer 85 languages and a 67 percent Denver Public Schools flunkout rate, as reported by the now defunct Rocky Mountain News in a story “What Happened?” Ironically, the ‘Rocky’ bankrupted in 2008 because not enough people could read! The same holds true for dozens of cities across our country.

Becoming a nation of dummies in the 21st Century

What happens when somebody cannot read, write or perform simple math?

If they cannot obtain a labor job, they pursue crime, drugs, alcohol, welfare, homelessness and worse. Such uneducated women usually become pregnant and their children become abused, live in poverty and become wards of the state. Over 13.4 million American children live below the poverty line according to Katie Couric in a recent telecast. An astounding 35 million Americans subsist on food stamps.

Massachusetts; A Glaring Example.

What happens when young adult women fail their educational pursuits? Let’s use one state to show you the underbelly of what’s happening to the United States:

Nearly nine of every 10 teen-agers who gave birth in Massachusetts were unmarried, the highest percentage of out-of-wedlock teen-age births of any state in the nation. According to the most recent data available from the National Center for Health Statistics, 86 percent of the 7,018 mothers under age 20 who gave birth in this state two years ago were not married.

The percentage was higher in Boston, hitting 92 percent. In Springfield, 90 percent of teen-age mothers were unmarried. “It is staggeringly high,” said state Health and Human Services Secretary Charles D. Baker Jr. Additionally, it is estimated that 80 percent of unwed teen mothers end up welfare.

The declining quality of the American work force.

In a penetrating article, Jared Taylor, “The Silent Catastrophe” October 12 2009, “One great, avoidable evil we face is the declining quality of the American work force. The Census Bureau tells us that if immigration continues at its current rate of some two million people a year, whites will become a minority of the under-18 child population in just 14 years— in 2023— and will become a minority of the working population just 16 years later.

The greatest increase will be in Hispanics, who are now dropping out of high school at higher rates than blacks, doing little better than blacks when they manage to stay in school, and are the group least likely to go to college. Demographers are beginning to warn that as well-educated, white baby boomers retire and are replaced by poorly educated blacks and Hispanics, the productivity gains of the last several hundred years will be reversed, and the United States could go into a tailspin.”

“We have the possibility of transforming the American dream into the American tragedy,” says Irwin Kirsch, senior research director at the Educational Testing Service. He warns that our increasingly non-white and immigrant workforce threatens not only our standard of living, but the very survival of republican government (the U.S. is a Republic) based on an informed middle class.

“Here are some of the facts,” said Taylor. “In 2007, 93.5 percent of white and 93.1 percent of Asian 18- to 24-year-olds had graduated from high school. The figures for blacks and Hispanics were 88.8 percent and 72.7 percent, meaning that Hispanics were more than four times more likely than whites… and 2.4 times more likely than blacks… to have failed to graduate from high school.”

Painfully, as witnessed in Detroit, so many poor people shoplifted from grocery stores and retail merchants that the businesses bankrupted or vacated the inner city. Thus, the poor cannot find a place to buy their groceries… even with food stamps. On a national scale, shoplifters hoist $35 million a day in goods from retail stores. We all pay for that massive theft. Think of the implications of adding 70 million more immigrants (half of whom are illiterate) to our cities across America.

John Wayne said, “Life is tough, but it’s even tougher if you’re stupid!”

Next — Part 2: Consequences from rapidly growing illiterate numbers.

The Tragedy of Detroit

How Immigration and Multiculturalism Destroyed It…

DetroitFor 15 years, from the mid 1970s to 1990, I worked in Detroit, Michigan. I watched it descend into the abyss of crime, debauchery, gun play, drugs, school truancy, car-jacking, gangs and human depravity. I watched entire city blocks burned out. I watched graffiti explode on buildings, cars, trucks, buses and school yards. Trash everywhere! Detroiters walked through it, tossed more into it and ignored it.

Tens of thousands and then, hundreds of thousands today exist on federal welfare, free housing and food stamps! With Aid to Dependent Children, minority women birthed eight to 10 and in once case, one woman birthed 24 kids as reported by the Detroit Free Press—all on American taxpayer dollars. A new child meant a new car payment, new TV and whatever mom wanted. I saw Lyndon Baines Johnson’s “Great Society” flourish in Detroit. If you give money for doing nothing, you will get more hands out taking money for doing nothing.

Mayor Coleman Young, perhaps the most corrupt mayor in America, outside of Richard Daley in Chicago, rode Detroit down to its knees. He set the benchmark for cronyism, incompetence and arrogance. As a black man, he said, “I am the MFIC.” The IC meant ‘in charge’. You can figure out the rest. Detroit became a majority black city with 67 percent African-Americans.

As a United Van Lines truck driver for my summer job from teaching math and science, I loaded hundreds of American families into my van for a new life in another city or state. Detroit plummeted from 1.8 million citizens to 912,000 today. At the same time, legal and illegal immigrants converged on the city, so much so, that Muslims number over 300,000. Mexicans number 400,000 throughout Michigan, but most work in Detroit.

As the Muslims moved in, the whites moved out. As the crimes became more violent, the whites fled. Finally, unlawful Mexicans moved in at a torrid pace. You could cut the racial tension in the air with a knife! Detroit may be one our best examples of multiculturalism: pure dislike and total separation from America.

Today, you hear Muslim calls to worship over the city like a new American Baghdad with hundreds of Islamic mosques in Michigan, paid for by Saudi Arabia oil money. High school flunk out rates reached 76 percent last June according to NBC’s Brian Williams. Classrooms resemble more foreign countries than America. English? Few speak it! The city features a 50 percent illiteracy rate and growing. Unemployment hit 28.9 percent in 2009 as the auto industry vacated the city.

In this week’s Time Magazine October 4, 2009, “The Tragedy of Detroit: How a great city fell and how it can rise again,” I choked on the writer’s description of what happened.

“If Detroit had been savaged by a hurricane and submerged by a ravenous flood, we’d know a lot more about it,” said Daniel Okrent. “If drought and carelessness had spread brush fires across the city, we’d see it on the evening news every night. Earthquake, tornadoes, you name it — if natural disaster had devastated the city that was once the living proof of American prosperity, the rest of the country might take notice.

But Detroit, once our fourth largest city, now 11th and slipping rapidly, has had no such luck. Its disaster has long been a slow unwinding that seemed to remove it from the rest of the country. Even the death rattle that in the past year emanated from its signature industry brought more attention to the auto executives than to the people of the city, who had for so long been victimized by their dreadful decision-making.”

As Coleman Young’s corruption brought the city to its knees, no amount of federal dollars could save the incredible payoffs, kick backs and illegality permeating his administration. I witnessed the city’s death from the seat of my 18-wheeler tractor trailer because I moved people out of every sector of decaying Detroit.

“By any quantifiable standard, the city is on life support. Detroit’s treasury is $300 million short of the funds needed to provide the barest municipal services,” Okrent said. “The school system, which six years ago was compelled by the teachers’ union to reject a philanthropist’s offer of $200 million to build 15 small, independent charter high schools, is in receivership. The murder rate is soaring, and 7 out of 10 remain unsolved. Three years after Katrina devastated New Orleans, unemployment in that city hit a peak of 11%. In Detroit, the unemployment rate is 28.9%. That’s worth spelling out: twenty-eight point nine percent.”

At the end of Okrent’s report, and he will write a dozen more about Detroit, he said, “That’s because the story of Detroit is not simply one of a great city’s collapse. It’s also about the erosion of the industries that helped build the country we know today. The ultimate fate of Detroit will reveal much about the character of America in the 21st century. If what was once the most prosperous manufacturing city in the nation has been brought to its knees, what does that say about our recent past? And if it can’t find a way to get up, what does that say about our future?”

As you read in my book review of Chris Steiner’s book, $20 Per Gallon, the auto industry won’t come back. Immigration will keep pouring more and more uneducated third world immigrants from the Middle East into Detroit—thus creating a beachhead for Islamic hegemony in America. If 50 percent illiteracy continues, we will see more homegrown terrorists spawned out of the Muslim ghettos of Detroit. Illiteracy plus Islam equals walking human bombs. You have already seen it in the Madrid, Spain, London, England and Paris, France with train bombings, subway bombings and riots. As their numbers grow, so will their power to enact their barbaric Sharia Law that negates republican forms of government, first amendment rights and subjugates women to the lowest rungs on the human ladder. We will see more honor killings by upset husbands, fathers and brothers that demand subjugation by their daughters, sisters and wives. Muslims prefer beheadings of women to scare the hell out of any other members of their sect from straying.

Multiculturalism: what a perfect method to kill our language, culture, country and way of life.

Teddy Kennedy’s Deadly Legacy For America

August 26, 2009 by admin

Teddy KennedyTeddy Kennedy died yesterday, but his legacy grows more deadly for future Americans.

Instead of a rich legacy bequeathed upon the United States by forever U.S. Senator Teddy Kennedy, the oft-intoxicated, blubbery fourth brother of the Kennedy clan—four decades ago–drunkenly drove over a bridge that caused the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and lied about what happened.

But his worst and most destructive legacy for the United States stems from his authorship of the 1965 “Immigration Reform Act” that added the bulk of our additional 100 million people into America within 40 years. It jumped legal immigration from 170,000 annually to 1.1 million annually. Added to that disastrous environmental legacy, his actions provoked a complete ethnic change of our stable society into a fractured civilization. How? He provided for entrance of immigrants from cultures totally incompatible with U.S. culture. He downgraded citizenship by not enforcing our laws or maintaining educational standards.

“We are the only country in history that deliberately changed its ethnic makeup, and history has few examples of ‘diversity’ creating a stable society.” Governor Richard D. Lamm

As those immigrants poured into this country, he facilitated and languished as millions of illegal aliens marched across our borders to wreak havoc on our schools, communities, jobs, hospitals, language and prisons. Over 20,000 members of MS-13 gangs distribute $130 billion in drugs yearly. We pay for 400,000 babies born to illegal alien mothers annually. We suffer 28 million Americans on food stamps because illegals downgrade wages and take jobs from our working poor.

Kennedy single handedly planted the seeds for the destruction of our country per the words of President Teddy Roosevelt, “The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, or preventing all possibility of its continuing as a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities.”

How did Kennedy answer that crisis of unrelenting illegal border crossing? He proposed, wrote and encouraged Ronald Reagan to sign the 1986 Immigration Amnesty that allowed what he said were only 1.3 million illegals. The true number of illegal aliens that gained instant citizenship became 4.3 million.

Later, Reagan said signing that amnesty was the worse mistake of his presidency.

Last June, 2007, as another 20 million illegal aliens broke over U.S. borders since 1986, Kennedy tried to give another amnesty by forcing S.B. 1639 into law with his bluster and pompous bellowing. He voted to double legal immigration to 2.2 million annually! Kennedy remains responsible for our $346 billion annual costs paying for illegal aliens!

In Dr. Otis Graham’s “Unguarded Gates: A History of America’s Immigration Crisis”, he writes, “Most Western elites continue urging the wealthy West not to stem the migrant tide, but to absorb our global brothers and sisters until their horrid ordeal has been endured and shared by all–ten billion humans packed onto an ecologically devastated planet.”

Kennedy voted for the fraudulent Iraq War that killed 4,000 American soldiers and wounded 31,000 to date. He’s voted against making English our national language which ensures further Balkanization of our nation via linguistic chaos. When a nation cannot speak to itself, it becomes fractured and separated.

While he battles with brain cancer, we battle for our nation’s life. While he sails his boat around Martha’s Vineyard, we pick up millions of pieces of trash on our borders from invading illegal alien hordes that he encourages. While he tips yet another glass of wine, we struggle to maintain our schools, communities, hospitals and prisons from this illegal invasion. While he sat on his barnyard wide rear-end for 40 years in the Senate creating the problems that now destroy our nation, we watched the American Dream turn into a nightmare.

Contrary to the editors of the Denver Post, Ted Kennedy may be likened to Nero of Rome who fiddled while it burned. Kennedy drank while we fought for our nation’s survival. Kennedy ate at the finest tables while we struggled with his voting for H-1B and H-2B visas that displaced millions of American workers. Kennedy sailed his boat while our nation sank into consequences of a dysfunctional and unsustainable nation.

Because of Kennedy, our successful culture finds itself turning into a foreign culture that failed, i.e., Mexico. The March PEW report shows Mexicans in America becoming the new dominate majority by 2050 at 53 percent.

In other words, rather than serving America and our future, Senator Ted Kennedy destroyed our America just as quickly as he took Mary Jo Kopechne’s life on a drunken night somewhere back in the 60s. As she fought for her life in that car as the waters rose above her, he escaped.

While we struggle nostril-deep in the nightmare waters of immigration swirling around us, we may well drown, too!

Once again, Teddy Kennedy escapes via death while we struggle for our nation’s life.

Anchor Babies: Enormous Taxpayer Costs

August 24, 2009 by admin

PART II

Taxpayer CostsAverage Americans fail to understand the enormous ramifications of 400,000 anchor babies born within the United States annually. They swamp our hospitals, ER wards and school systems. They cost taxpayers billions for ‘free’ breakfasts and lunches along with English as a Second Language classes. Most of them flunk out of high schools, at which point, they either become pregnant themselves or join gangs. As they turn to the dark side, they fill our prison systems.

Unlawful immigrants and their children make up 29 percent of our local, state and federal prisons at a cost of $2.2 billion annually. (Source: www.cis.org)

The mind-bending costs, according to Edwin Rubenstein, National Research Center, www.thesocialcontract.com , 2008 report, showed unlawful immigration costing American taxpayers $346 billion annually across 15 federal agencies.

A reader said, “Great article about anchor babies becoming instant US citizens. I live in New York City…the amount of Mexicans having babies here is CRAZY! When I pick up my children at school I see Mexican mothers pregnant over and over, again and again, year after year. That’s our city, state and federal government at work! But wait! The Chinese are number two after the Mexicans! It’s unstoppable!”

Another reader said, “This event is easily prevented. The child’s birth initiates this question to the mother: WHO HAS CUSTODY OF THIS CHILD? If the Mother answers that she has custody, then the Mother and child are sent to her home nation. If the Mother denies custody, the State takes custody of the child and sends the Mother to her home nation. The Citizen rights of the child are not invoked until age 21years of age. Results: No anchor baby, no family attachment, no flood of future births in the US, problem solved. Our Government has flimflammed this nation into accepting these 3rd world immigrants to enhance thoughtless voters.”

A third reader said, “Could it be that our congressman refuse to address the anchor baby problem because they are afraid of mass race rioting and boycotts? The Latino population is quite possibly the most ethnocentric of all the ethnicities. Most of them want what they perceive is best for Latinos; regardless of the consequences for all ethnicities, and regardless of what is best for America. I am afraid that our politicians are afraid to feel their wrath, and to avoid bloodshed in the streets, and massive boycotts of products and services, they do nothing. Or, as I have stated before, maybe Americans simply admire Latinos, and are willing to sacrifice everything as long as they are assured Latinos will take over America.”

In 1994, 74,987 anchor babies in maternity units cost taxpayers $215 million in Stockton, California. In 2003, 70 percent of the 2,300 babies born in San Joaquin General maternity ward were from illegal aliens. That number has exploded today with over four million illegal aliens residing in California. Nine out of ten babies born in Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas stem from unlawful immigrant mothers. The figures for Chicago, New York City, Miami, Houston, Atlanta and other great cities run the same.

The French economist Frederic Bastiat said, “The unseen is more expensive than the seen.” In Stockton, California, the Silverio Family was featured in the Wall Street Journal in 2003. They were fruit pickers who arrived illegally from Oxtotilan, Mexico in 1997. The wife, Felipa had three kids, but popped an anchor baby named Flor. The child was premature and spent three months in a neonatal incubator at a cost to the San Joaquin Hospital of over $300,000.00. They conceived another, Christian. The second baby made them eligible for $1,000 per month welfare. Because Flor is disabled, she receives $600.00 monthly for asthma. Although the illegal aliens made $18,000.00 annually picking fruit, they collected $12,000.00 of your tax dollars for their anchor babies. One night the father, Cristobal crashed his van. He had no license or insurance. Taxpayers paid for all hospital bills. That’s why 77 hospitals in Border States were going bankrupt in 2003, but Senator John McCain wrote a rider into the Medicaid Bill for $1.4 billion of your tax dollars. It passed.

Not to finish the spending spree on these anchor babies, the children attend California schools at a cost of $7,000.00 per year over and above what their parents pay in taxes. The cost for all five of their children for one school year exceeds $35,000.00 times 18 years for a grand taxpayer total of $630,000.00. This is only one family. No wonder California is $26 billion in debt.

Additional costs for illegal alien children stem from translators, advocates and middlemen. Medi-Cal in 2003 sponsored 760,000 illegal aliens. Supplemental Security Income is a non-means-treated federal grant of money and food stamps. Be assured that scams and fraud run rampant. Over 500,000 ‘mentally disabled kids’ are on drugs for ADHD and ODD. One lady, Linda Torres was arrested in Bakersfield with $8,500.00 in small bills in her pocket. It was her SSI lump award for her disability, which was heroin addiction.

Just so Americans across the country don’t feel left out, let’s move to Georgia. Net Fiscal Costs of Illegal Immigration for Georgia:

Births of illegal aliens in Georgia cost to taxpayers:

2000– 5,133 births cost: $13 million

2001– 9,528 births cost: $23 million

2002—11,188 births cost: $27 million

Additionally, receiving public assistance in 2002 for 25,000 children of illegal aliens cost Georgia taxpayers $42 million annually. Health care costs to Georgia taxpayers for illegal aliens in 2002 featured 64,000 doctor visits which ran Grady Health System into a $63 million deficit.

What is it in your state? This picture is a small window into the massive fraud being perpetrated on your wallet by your congressional leaders. What is your senator or congressman doing about it? The simple answer fulfills French economist Bisbiat’s rule of the unseen. Your congressional reps assist this fraud! They encourage it every day by doing nothing about 2,200 illegal aliens crossing our borders and they have done nothing since 9/11 to deport the estimated 13 million that are already here.

With over three million illegal aliens arriving annually, they birth 300,000 anchor babies in California alone and you pay the maximum. When those legal ‘American’ babies grow to 18, they can ‘chain migrate’ their kin into our country. We’re talking about a crisis SO huge, your children and this country will not survive it.

Support Congressman Nathan Deal’s bill H.B. 1868 to stop anchor babies from tapping into your wallet.

How Israel Wages War in Plain Sight

August 23, 2009 by admin

IsraelIt’s now well known that Israelis and pro-Israelis “fixed” the intelligence that induced the U.S. invasion of Iraq. What’s not yet widely known is how. If peace-seeking nations hope never again to see deceit operate on such a scale, those deceived must learn this lesson before these same operatives induce a war with Iran.

To “wage war by way of deception” (the motto of the Israeli intelligence service) requires the capacity to operate in plain sight yet without detection. To detect this duplicity in real time requires a grasp of how Israeli strategists rely on three key categories of operatives: agents, assets and sayanim (Hebrew for helpers or volunteers).

Agents are fully conscious of the intended goal of an operation. Intent is what distinguishes premeditated murder from involuntary manslaughter. Culpability is gauged by the state of mind. Agents operate with what the law calls extreme malice and an “evil mind.” Thus the severity of the sanctions for premeditated capital crimes.

From 1981-1985, Israeli agent Jonathan Pollard stole 360 cubic feet of classified U.S. intelligence documents on Soviet arms shipments, Pakistani nuclear weapons, Libyan air defense systems and other data sought by Tel Aviv. With oversight by only a few case officers (katsas), Israeli agents routinely manage sophisticated operations with the help of pre-staged assets and a network of sayanim.

Assets are people profiled such that—within an acceptable range of probabilities—they can be relied upon to behave consistent with their personality profile. Assets lack the state of mind required for traditional culpability due to their lack of intent. Assets contribute to an operation simply by pursuing their subconscious personal needs. Typically those needs are for recognition, influence, money, sex, drugs or the greatest drug of all: ideology.

Put a profiled asset in a pre-staged time, place and circumstance and Israeli psy-ops specialists can be confident that—within an acceptable range of probabilities—that person will perform consistent with their profile, much as Bill Clinton behaved with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.

Israelis are indifferent to political parties. Pro-Israeli assets include Christian Zionist presidents Harry Truman, a Democrat, and George W. Bush, a Republican. Both were reliable and pliable advocates for a geopolitical agenda pursued by an enclave of Zionist extremists. Truman granted them nation-state recognition while Bush dispatched the U.S. military to help pursue their expansionist goals for Greater Israel.

Granting Aid and Comfort

Sayanim play a role akin to military reservists who can be activated on short notice to support Israeli operations. These helpers are shielded from criminal culpability by being told only enough to perform their narrow role. Because recruiters ensure these volunteers are kept ignorant of the broader goals of an operation, they could easily pass a polygraph test. Their narrow intent: to respond promptly to requests to assist Israel.

That assistance could be logistics, medical care or intelligence gathering. Sayanim routinely staff the “in between” positions in political offices. Morris Amitay, a former executive director of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), described the strategic role played by sayanim in U.S. policy-making:

There are a lot of guys at the working level up here [on Capitol Hill]…who happen to be Jewish, who are willing…to look at certain issues in terms of their Jewishness…These are all guys who are in a position to make the decision in those areas for those senators…You can get an awful lot done just at the staff level.

Author Victor Ostrovsky, formerly a katsa, conceded in 1990 that the Mossad had 7,000 sayanim in London alone. What this vast volunteer corps is not told is that an operation may endanger not only Israel but also the broader Jewish community when Tel Aviv is linked to extremism, terrorism, extortion, organized crime, espionage and treason. Ostrovsky explains in By Way of Deception:

…the Mossad does not seem to care how devastating it could be to the status of the Jewish people in the Diaspora if it was known. The answer you get if you ask is: “So what’s the worst that could happen to those Jews? They’d all come to Israel. Great!”

The signaling system for pro-Israeli operatives remains opaque. Yet to be explained by this U.S. ally is why, for instance, ten days before the mass murder of 911, Tel Aviv announced a $1 million grant to super-spy Jonathan Pollard.

As the duplicitous how of this Information Age warfare becomes transparent, the consistency of this treachery will become apparent as will its common source. Jurisprudence will need to adjust to ensure that those aiding such “evil mind” operations are held accountable consistent with the gravity of the crimes. Those crimes include ongoing treason, a capital offense.

In combination, agents, assets and sayanim provide a powerful force multiplier that enables an extremist few-within-the-few to wage war non-transparently yet in plain sight. Thus their key role in the “in between” domains—media, pop culture, think tanks and politics—where duplicity can be deployed to displace facts with what “the mark” can be deceived to believe.

Racism: Glorified Hyperbole In America

July 21, 2009 by admin

RacismEach week, I write well-researched, straightforward and hard hitting editorials on the state of immigration, environment, politics and many other accelerating dilemmas facing America. Those op-eds expose politicians, presidents, ecological decline, the War on Drugs, etc.

Yet, the United States, led by its current president, a black man named Barack Obama as well as a white dominated U.S. Congress continue leading this nation on a destructive path while pretending to make things better for American citizens.

One look at the $10.3 trillion national debt, annual $700 billion trade deficit, abysmal War on Drugs, money and lives down a rat hole in the Iraq War, endless Afghanistan War, gas prices, housing foreclosures, 32.2 million Americans subsisting on food stamps, water shortages in California along with their $26 billion debt, 15 million unemployed Americans, 200 million fat or obese Americans facing a humongous health care crisis—well folks—we find ourselves in a world of hurt.

In an interview with James Howard Kunstler, author of The Long Emergency, on my radio show, www.themicroeffect.com ,“Connecting the Dots” on Wednesday nights at 6:00 p.m.,MT, he said, “America is an un-serious country.”

Here in 2009, we stagger along burning 20 million barrels of oil daily with 12 million of those barrels imported from hostile Middle Eastern countries that dislike us as the Great Satan, i.e., Western culture. If one or two nasty terrorists commandeered any of those countries to stop their oil supply to us—we, my fellow Americans, are screwed!

Loss of that oil would cripple this society within weeks. Without oil, grocery store shelves would run bare within three days!

We tip-toe SO on a perilous edge 24/7! We continue thinking that ‘it’, the American Way of Life, meaning endless water, oil, food and everything will continue as it is today.

Former president George H.W. Bush said, “The American way of life is not negotiable.”

Mother Nature replied, “Wanna’ bet!”

As to the War on Drugs, it stands as the greatest failure of the last and this century. It’s a joke, but costs billions to continue the charade. Year after year, Americans shell out $80 billion for that charade with a total over $1 trillion since 1971. My brother, who plies the Halls of Congress, told me about the stupid reasoning on the Hill he heard last week. All of Congress wants to solve the War on Drugs: “Who is the funniest? Of all the Members that have made an amusing, memorable statement in a hearing, Congressman Dan Burton (R-IN) wins the gold medal. During a hearing on the “Mess in Mexico” he addressed the chairman and said: ‘Mr. Chairman, I have said for many years that the War on Drugs is a failure, not getting the job done. I will try any new idea, any anything to improve the situation, except legalization.’”

My brother, Officer Howard Wooldridge said, “This reminded me of the man who went to his doctor and said he would do anything to avoid lung cancer, except give up smoking cigarettes.”

When I write about a sustainable civilization and the core of what causes our dilemmas, writers and readers explode out of the woodwork to tell me how wrong, off-base or racist my op-eds. Most of them haven’t traveled out of their home states let alone across six continents to see the world first hand. I witnessed what I write about!

Oftentimes, writers sling such epithets as ‘racism’,‘xenophobia’ and ‘bigotry’. They hurl innuendoes like racial intolerance, ad nausea.

What all those name callers don’t understand stems from the fact that I am a U.S. Marine service brat—totally integrated since birth. I taught and still teach in the inner city. I am an 18 year veteran volunteer ski instructor for the handicapped as I teach all races, creeds and colors. I work out in a totally integrated recreation center where I am a minority.

Yet, people hurl names at anyone that dares to state the obvious.

In the United States, humans of all races, creeds and colors dominate cities, towns and villages. One ethnic group cannot continue blaming another race for its own shortcomings. It’s not one particular race’s fault that another ethnic group suffers a 76 percent high school dropout rate or that 70 percent of its teens are unwed mothers. Or, that one or two races commit huge percentages of crimes, rapes or murders—because of another race. Or that one ethnic group dominates prison cells so it must be the fault of another race!

You may note that 2.3 million people in U.S. prisons enjoy representation by all races, creeds and colors. Rich to poor serve in prison! In other words, individuals that choose criminal acts pay a criminal’s price.

In the final analysis, every individual of every race enjoys, under the U.S. Constitution, personal accountability and personal responsibility.

When you study, work and apply yourself in school, you move forward toward success. When you choose right over wrong, you choose freedom. When you choose to act in a lawful manner, you enjoy incredible opportunities.

Yes, I write about immigration’s multiple facets and growing consequences. When you read my work across the nation, you will see responders hurling names at me for bringing up the obvious. They can toss names, but they cannot undermine my integrity or my courage to state the obvious.

This civilization stands in the crosshairs of a 21st century phenomenon unknown heretofore to humanity: massive, unrelenting and incompatible immigration that brews a volatile and incendiary mixture that faces all our progeny. We face an unsustainable future via adding 100 million people to our already overloaded civilization, yet few understand it or ‘get it’ or ‘offer’ solutions. Most ignore it or deny it.

In the end, it will not be about race, creed or color—but in fact, the survival of our civilization.

Again, as I stated in my book, AMERICA ON THE BRINK: THE NEXT ADDED 100 MILLION AMERICANS, we must enact a 10 year moratorium on all immigration and reduce all immigration to 100,000 a year maximum if the United States of America hopes to survive into the 21st century.

Screaming out names like ‘racist’ won’t cut it. Mother Nature doesn’t care about your race and she always bats last.

America is an un-serious country facing serious results. Racism will be the least of our national problems!

McNamara and George Bush

Fog of War and Arrogance…

McNamaraThe Nazi Hermann Goering said, “Naturally, the common people don’t want war, but after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag people along. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and for exposing the country to danger. It works the same in every country.”

Little known and already forgotten, Robert S. McNamara, the architect of the Vietnam War, died this week-after a lengthy life of 93 years. The world won’t blink, but I winced in my distress for a man who caused so much death and misery in his power tenure-and all for nothing.

Whereas McNamara lived a long existence, he cut short 58,300 American soldiers’ lives and horribly disfigured the lives of 350,000 more from war wounds. On the Vietnamese side, he killed several million people and poisoned the countryside with Agent Orange. McNamara created orphans, widows, widowers, amputees, refugees and more human misery than most Americans can imagine. Documentation shows that 150,000 to 200,000 Vietnam Vets committed suicide since 1975—all from the traumas they suffered while serving in the steaming jungles of Vietnam. McNamara’s perpetration of that war still kills Americans with cancers that formed 20 years later from exposure to Agent Orange. No one knows how many lives suffer from drugs and alcoholism stemming from their service in Vietnam.

Much like Hitler, McNamara illustrated the power of one man’s intentions. He built a consensus for his Domino’s Theory of communist conquest. While Lyndon Baines Johnson sided with McNamara, along with Congress, none of them understood the folly of their “Fog of War.” They never declared ‘war’ on North Vietnam. They called it a ‘conflict’.

The U.S. Army drafted my college roommate out of our room to my great distress. He got shot to hell in a firefight within two months of landing in Vietnam. His last letter to me before his death said, “They won’t let us win this war or lose it…we are getting killed for nothing.” By 1968, I found myself in U.S. Army Basic Training for ROTC at Fort Benning, Georgia. I’ll never forget Drill Sergeant Pierce screaming, “You maggots are gonna’ die, but if you learn the low crawl well enough, you might luck out and come back alive!”

While stepping forward on forced marches, we sang, “I wanna’ go to Vietnam, I wanna’ fight the Vietnam…I wanna’ go see Ho Chi Mingh to pull the whiskers on his chin…I wanna’ be an Air Born Ranger so I can live a life of danger….”

I wanted to vomit every day I suffered from the concocted indoctrination. The late author David Halberstam, The Best and Brightest, exposed the Vietnam War as a complete fraud. Back at college, two guys on my floor died terrible deaths and one of them, Bobby Driskol, got shot up so bad, that today, he’s got plastic tubes running all over one side of his body from an AK-47 round slicing up the left side of his chest.

After my commissioning as a 2nd Lt., I saw enough horrors of war to last me a lifetime at Fort Riley and Fort Sam Houston. Guys returned with arms, legs and faces missing. Napalm, or jellied gasoline, burned off guys’ eyelids, ears, noses and lips. Hideous beyond comprehension! I suffered depression going to sleep and waking up. I felt sickened, yet the ‘Silent Majority’ bought the war and sent their kids off to die at 300 dead ‘patriots’ a week. The conflict dragged on for 10 years.

Why? Money! Huge amounts of money drove that war. Corporations and stock holders made billions. While our young men died horrific deaths and suffered the lunacy of mass insanity, the citizens of this country failed their kids, failed integrity and failed to speak out against that war. Finally, in the late 60s and early 70s, millions of college students marched to stop the war, “Hell no! We won’t go!” By then, even TV anchor Walter Cronkite felt we lost the war.

By that time, McNamara realized his folly. Three decades later, he wrote a book, Fog of War, where he admitted his grave error.

I found all of it particularly intriguing because U.S. Senators and House reps made sure their kids escaped Vietnam by student deferments, quick marriages with instant kids, or like former Vice President Dick Cheney-five deferments until the war ended. In other words, the rich and powerful sent poor kids and blacks off to die, but protected their own.

If hell exists, McNamara must be feeling his flesh sizzle right about now and for all eternity. Same goes for LBJ and RMN.

“Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” George Orwell

Today, we race ahead 30 years later with George W. Bush, who hid out in the National Guard and got drunk every weekend while he ‘served’ during the Vietnam War. As our 43rd president, Bush, single-mindedly created the Weapons of Mass destruction charade in Iraq like McNamara created the Domino’s Theory. Instead of reason, both men used fear.

I wince in my angst for the untold misery, suffering and horrors that Bush created by his lies and illicit war upon Iraq. While 17 Saudi Arabia-born terrorists committed 9/11 that killed 3,000 innocent people, Bush killed 100,000 innocents, created 2.5 million refugees, destroyed an entire country, killed 4,000 young American military volunteers, horrifically wounded another 35,000, bankrupted the USA, and utilized uranium depleted bombs that will create birth defects, much like Agent Orange, for decades. No telling how many American suicides will result from the Iraq War!

He called it a “War on Terror” when he left our southern borders open to any terrorists that wanted to waltz into the USA 24/7.

I recommend both McNamara, Bush and Cheney share a jail cell in hell. For neighbors in that cell block, they might include Westmoreland, Bundy, corporate heads and all the misfits that perpetrated and contracted the Vietnam War for 10 years. For all the men extending the war in Iraq and Afghanistan, the same fate!

How much will the Vietnam and Iraq Wars mean in history’s eyes? You might take your hand and stick it into a pail of water. While your hand remains, you cause ‘something’ or some kind of ‘effect’, but once you withdraw your hand, everything returns to the original condition.

That happened in Vietnam and it will repeat in Iraq. We cannot take an ancient civilization along with its culture and religion, and turn it into a sophisticated democracy in a few years with military hegemony. The day we leave, they will return to their tribal war-prone roots.

The sage advice of Thomas Jefferson, “We must not entangle ourselves in the affairs of foreign countries.”

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Hitler

McNamara fooled us and Bush lied. Same results: millions of deaths for nothing! Ironically, citizens of the world find themselves in greater human misery, terror and fear.

“How fortunate for leaders that average men do not think.” Hitler
